Unique wine experience opens in the Hunter Valley
The Icon Lounge has recently opened in the heart of Pokolbin. Located on the mezzanine floor of the Small Winemakers Centre, the Icon Lounge is a unique opportunity to taste the finest wines from some of the finest winemakers in the Hunter Valley.
The Icon Lounge is a stage for Hunter Valley talent and includes established iconic wines such as Brokenwood Graveyard, McWilliams O'Shea and Thomas Kiss as well as aspiring greats from the new wave of winemakers in the region.
The Icon Lounge utilises the Enomatic dispensing system to showcase 16 Shiraz and 8 Semillon wines from more than 18 Hunter Valley winemakers. This Italian technology allows visitors to select at leisure their own wine and tasting volume. 30mL tastes range from $2 to $7 with 75 and 100mL tastes also available.
The Icon Lounge is the initiative of Suzanne & Ian Little, the winemaking duo behind The Little Wine Co and the Small Winemakers Centre.
"The Icon Lounge is a shameless flaunt of Hunter Valley talent" says Suzanne. "We have chosen Shiraz and Semillon as the depth of quality in the Hunter is truly remarkable. With our central position and the large numbers of visitors we receive at the Winemakers Centre we got to thinking that it is the perfect place to create a unique tasting experience; visitors can see the best wines in the Hunter Valley and then venture to other cellar doors from here."
The Icon Lounge is filled with natural light and with views across vineyards to the Brokenback Range it is the perfect area for a special wine experience.
